Abdullah Ercan, has been appointed as Turkish U21 National Team Coach.

U21 National Team under the coaching of Ercan will face Poland at away on 13 August in their first match of 2015 U21 European Championship Qualifying Group.

Biography of Abdullah Ercan

Abdullah Ercan was born in 1971 and played Trabzonspor, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and İstanbulspor during his football career.

He played in Turkish A National Team with 71 times (117 in all age categories) between 1993-2003 while he had been in Turkey's squad at the following championships:

-1993 Mediterrenean Games (Turkish U23 National Team had finished the tournament as a champion)

-1996 UEFA European Championship (Turkish A National Team had eliminated in group stage)

-2000 UEFA European Championship (Turkish A National Team had reached to quarter-final)

-2002 FIFA World Cup (Turkish A National Team had finished the tournament in 3rd place)

Ercan's coaching Career in Turkish National Teams:

From 2008 to 2011 he had trained Turkish U16, U17, U18 and U19 National Teams while he had been also an assistant coach of U21 National Team in this period.

In 2009; U17 National Team, coached by Abdullah Ercan, had qualified to 2009 UEFA U17 European Championship and had finished the championship in the first teams which had caused U17 National Team had participate to FIFA U17 World Cup Nigeria 2009 and had reached to quarter finals at this tournament

Under coaching of Abdullah Ercan, U17 National Team had also reached the semi-final in 2010 UEFA U17 European Championship.
