New status of Turkish Cup

Turkish Cup which is organized for the 50th time in this season, has emerged a new status which will start to occur in this season. According to new status, the group round which was played until this season, has been removed.

2011-2012 Turkish Cup consists of 57 teams and two-stages. The qualification stage consists of four rounds. At the end the qualification stage, the final will begin which includes quarter finals, semi-finals and the final. All games of the cup will be played on a one single match-basis and the final stage matches will be held in neutral venue.

Qualification Stage

In the first round; 16 teams which finished Spor Toto 2. League groups in first 8 place and 6 teams which promoted from Spor Toto 3. League to Spor Toto 2. League in last season will match each other.
In the second round; 11 winners of the first round will join 17 teams which are consisted of 3 teams that relegated from Bank Asya 1. Lig to Spor Toto Süper Lig and 14 teams which were not promote to Spor Toto Süper Lig from Bank Asya 1. Lig in the last season.
In the third round; 14 winners of the second round will join 18 teams which are consisted of 15 teams which finished Spor Toto Süper Lig in the first 15 place and 3 teams which promoted from Bank Asya 1. Lig to Spor Toto Süper Lig in the last season.
In the fourth round; 16 winners of the third round will match each other.

Final Stage

The final stage consists of quarter final, semi final and the final. All matches of this stage will be played in neutral venue and according to one single match-basis.
In the quarter finals, 8 winners of the fourth round from the qualification stage will match each other; while the 4 winners will meet in the semi-finals. The final of 50th Turkish Cup will also be played in a neutral venue an done single match-basis.
