Portsmouth striker Nadir Çiftçi has been called up to the Turkish national team squad for Wednesday's international friendly match against the Netherlands.
Like Australian-born defender Ersan Adem Gülüm, Nadir Çiftçi opted to play for Turkey. All the required applications have been submitted to FIFA which will allow the 18-year-old player to play for Turkish national team. Turkish Football Federation is putting extreme efforts to finalize procedures that will make him eligible against the Netherlands.
